Title: Lathe (Warning: pics attached)
Post by: Thunder on March 07, 2009, 09:16:59 pm
As I mentioned in another thread, I just purchased a used lathe.

I've still got more cleaning to do and I need to finish leveling the ways.

OK I'm jealous.   [green with envy ....  get it ?    ]
Not of the lathe although it sure is a pretty tool.

I'm jealous of the Space it requires and the frn's it must have cost ....

Looks like a good score to me.  I hope you have a bunch of fun using it.
Maybe the basis for another income ?

That's the intent.  Hope to be blueprinting actions for rifles in the very near future.

Not to mention everything else that can be made with one.  I was hoping to get a mill next, even if it isn't a big honking one.  However, this one comes with a milling attachment, so there are some things that I could mill with it without the added expense of a full-fledged mill.  Granted, a real mill would be much better, but I think this shall do nicely for now.  A friend already wants to put me to work making a new lever for his reloading equipment.  Since he helped me move it, I think I owe him.

Depending on where you are you may be able to get into the local Vo-Tech. Ours offers adult classes for many of its courses.
