3-Phase Power Generation is more Efficient than Single Phase.

I'd like to see a Custom Generator—Technically an Alternator—that could Create 3-Phase AC power suitable to be Split into 3 separate 12 AC currents that could then be run through a Bridge Rectifier to give 3 Lines of 12 Volt DC.

Why? Because I'd get over 50% more electric power per gallon of fuel.

I asked my Electric Motors and Motor Control Instructor but he said having a custom built generator would be prohibitively expensive.

Lindsay Publications used to have several books that told how to wrap your own Generators to give Any Voltage/Cycle that you desired.

Lindsay is out of Business but the Data is "Out There."

Indeed it is.

Youroldtimebookstore.com has what's left over of Lindsay Books stocks.

Www.lindsaybks.com/link1.html has a list of a few places that has books they used to sell.

I would have pasted the links in myself but for some reason, my computer is not letting me at this time.

Any links to off-grid power is good.

I did like the DYI stuff.

Hey RVM, what power per gallon of fuel are you talking about with Solar power?

Solar Power, Waterwheel and Windmills fit right into some people's plans and budgets.

I think that maNY—Maybe Most—folks wanting to be "Off-Grid" and/or prepared for untimely interruptions in the Power Supply probably start with a generator and a Few gallons of Fuel.
