While it's awful someone was killed, the specifics I find quite interesting.  More and more you will see LE getting their hands on onboard computers and gauges.

 Thanks for passing that along.

 This, along with these "car zapper" gizmos that can shut a car down remotely, is the sort of thing that makes me wish my next car could be some old vintage, pre-computer chip car that had been well maintained. Or perhaps I could have one built up from parts, but that would probably coust more than buying a brand new one SUV of luxury sedan.

I recently put a brand new crate engine in a 1985 chevy pickup
the truck cost me two thousand a year or two ago and I ran it untill
the engine quit I had the parts already waiting and replaced the engine
and a few other things for the for a grand total of $1,600.
the trick is to do it all yourself labor is how they get you and if you dont
know how no problem most community collages have classes on this.
well worth the thought
