Perscription Drugs and Glasses...
« on: December 01, 2006, 01:02:35 pm »

G'Day All,

Great Idea, Clarie, If any TCF'rs are in southern AZ or CA I can reccommend a trip to Algodones,Mexico to fill your 'scripts. Prices are, for the most part, waaaayyyy cheaper than in the US. Many meds that require a 'script in the US do not in Mexico, they are over the counter, as long as the required meds are not narcotics, e.g. oxycontin, etc these still need a written 'script from your doctor.

Glasses are a winner to get here, eye exam is included in the price of the glasses or is free. On my last trip 9/28/06 I got a new pair of glasses, exam, progressive lens, photo sensitive and titanium frames, total cost $145.00 frn's delivered in 2 hours. I'm very happy with them and the service I recieved while in Algodones, Mexico. The food was also great, and the beer is ice cold.

Most everone speaks english or can get help with same when needed.

I also had some dental work done as well, 2 fillings, a cap on one tooth and general cleaning, total cost $221.00 frn's. Fine work and the staff, dentist and tech VERY concerned to alieviate any pain you may have.

You can get there by taking the I-8 east or west to the Andrade cut off on the CA side of the border AZ/CA, head south about a mile and your there, you can drive or walk across.

Border/Customs goons offer the minimum of BS when re-entering the US, the Mexicans for the most part don't even bother.

Regards,

Americus

Does some TMMer buy or know someone who buys meds on-line from Canada or Mexico. Now that I've quit smoking and am trying to fight COPD, my 2 meds are costing me about $400.00 per month. I have a fear of being ripped off by thieves posing as such.

I just googled prescription meds from Canada and got over half a million hits. Which one is legit.

After looking through dozens of sites, I found an online pharmacy named NorthwestPharmacy.com

ADVAIR Diskus 100/50

At present- 173.00 per month
At NWP.com-45.00 per month

Spiriva HandiHaler

At present-213.00 per month
At NWP.com-68.49
generic-49.99

173 + 213= 386 x 52= 20,072 per year
45 + 68.49 = 113.49 x 52 = 5901.48

Looks like I will save 14, 170.52 per year
That's 70 1/2% less.

I go online and put in the generic drug...sometimes I add the word cheap. Sometimes I get meds from Canada but mostly from India. Never had a problem. I use a Visa or Mastercard gift card and put a minimal amount of money on it so I don't have to worry about ID theft.

I sure miss henshawe.

Ditto.

Anyone with an active way to contact him .... PLEASE ask him to PLEASE swing by once in a while ?

I'd really like to see him again.  [We met at the '07 SoAZ.]
I have questions about the "gypsy" lifestyle that I feel certain he could answer.

I had a bunch of dental work done in Mexico at the Reynosa [extreme south Texas] crossing.
I also recommend them for all of the same reasons.  I saved something like $8K on multiple crowns.

Looks like the price of my meds went up $10.80. It seems VISA charges a surcharge on foreign purchases. It's still a bargain even with that and the $9.99 shipping charge.

I suggest you find a natural alternative to your "prescriptions"...ASAP.
