OOps, I guess I need to send out a few more of those secret decoder rings. ^_^

4th Annual FSW Jamboree 22-24 June 2007 near Guernsey, Wyoming

Guernsey (pop. 1100) is on Hwy. 26, just 15 miles east of IH-25 (exit 92).
(Look on a map between Casper and Cheyenne.)

There are two gas stations, three m(h)otels, an auto parts store, two restaurants,
three bars, a bowling alley, 9-hole golf course, and a grocery.  It's a very pleasant
town with a wide and flowing river, and beautiful local terrain.

NEARBY TOWNS:    Torrington and Wheatland (both 30 minutes away)

The weekend before (16-17 June) there will be a Cheyenne gun show at the Fairgrounds,
if you're passing through.

FIRING RANGES:
Home to the Wyoming National Guard's Camp Guernsey, a training facility with
thousands of acres.  We have reserved for our exclusive enjoyment Sat/Sun
two of their ranges, the Known Distance (KD) 1100 meter range and the Pop Up Range.
(Those of you at the Frozen Chosin and other matches know these ranges well!)
There will be a competent crew running clinics/matches at both ranges on both days.
You won't find better shooting or range officers in the entire West!

Saturday and Sunday range use is included in the Jam fee, and Jamboreesters have precedence
over other shooters (who pay the $20 fee to Boston for him to reimburse the range).

JAMBOREE CAMPSITE DIRECTIONS:
Upon receipt, those of you on the forum will quickly get a link to a dedicated
board solely for registered Jamboreesters.  (Others will be emailed.)  In it will
be all the directions for the campsite.

RV lots (full hook-ups) are limited to 16, but there will be plenty of tent space.

Also posted there is a listing of local motels.

Within a month of the Jam, I will also provide a Guernsey address to serve as a UPS package
receiving point.  (Any ammo shipped must have an ORM-D sticker, per the regs.)

Check in and out times:
If you want to arrive in the area earlier than Friday the 22nd, or stay past noon Monday
the 25th, there is plenty of nearby public land camping, or motels.  We have the campground
paid for only for the three nights of 22-24 June.

JAMBOREE DECORUM:
Since the campground is within Guernsey town limits, we will have to save our shooting for the ranges.

Barring any extreme fire danger restriction, we can enjoy a bonfire.

Children are most welcome!  There's a great river onsite (tubing!), nearby hiking, and lots
for them to enjoy within a few hundred yard radius of the campsite.

Please do not dress as if in a combat zone.   Full cammies, face paint, web-gear, etc.
just casts the wrong appearance for us.  While holstered pistols are fine at the
campground, walking around there all day with a slung rifle is inappropriate.  Remember,
this will be Guernsey's first impression of FSWers, and we will like this year's site so
much that many of us will want to return.

Guests are welcome to hang out (though not camp), though they cannot shoot or eat for free.
Please have them see Boston for more details.

___________
REGISTERING FOR THE 4th Annual FSW Jamboree 22-24 June 2007

Fee is $40 per person (13 years and older).  Cash only (no check or M.O.).
If you want an RV space with full hook-up, add $20 to Jam fee.
(Only 16 spaces available--first come, first served--arrive early!)

Jam fee includes:
tent camping and showers
range fees to Camp Guernsey of $20 per Jam registrant (no discount for non-shooters, sorry)
Saturday night BBQ

Jam fee does not include:
range fee for children under 13 (pay Boston directly for this and he will reimburse the range)
RV space fee ($20 surcharge for all three days)

Please send (with your email and forum username) postmarked no later than 1 June.
While Jamboreesters need not be FSWers, they should be forum users because all the
Jam info will be posted there (and not on the FSW website except for date and city).

No walk-in registrants, as I need an accurate count beforehand for the pre-Jam expenses/planning.
Postmarked by 1 June, seriously.  At previous Jams I've turned away the procrastinators and
"hadn't heard" folks.  If you're attending, you should know so three weeks out.

___________
As of this post, we already have over a dozen registered Jamboreesters, so please
get your registration and fee in ASAP.  This will be our biggest and best Jam ever, and
a highlight of the year!

If you've any questions, please post them here, or PM me.

See you all there!
