Bill of Rights Day - December 15th
« on: April 01, 2007, 09:33:51 pm »

We had a fantastic celebration here in Portland Oregon this year.
 It included:
Fantastic finger food buffet and non-alcoholic drinks
Great decorations
Special presentation to honor Bob Pletka (freedom fighter for over 50 years)
Short history by Gordon Leitch (our only  LEGAL candidate for Governor as he paid for the registration fee of $1,000 in silver dollars - he tried to do it in gold but they freaked and wouldn't take it - we're going to trace what happened to the money as it really amounted to $10,000 - but that's another story)
A FANTASTIC cake with an edible picture of the statue of liberty on it
And, of course, a full reading of the Bill of Rights to a very appreciative and attentive audience of over 50 people.

We had a special "mystery guest" appearance to close the evening off before people began to mingle and rap constitution - it was none other than Ben Franklin himself!!!  We had a wonderful impersonator who did a great job and REALLY looks the part.  He was a bit of a socialist in some ways as he does a lot of the schools and has to cow-tow to the propaganda but we're working on that :-)

Hope all of you have started plans for SOME type of celebration for this year.  It was one of the most rewarding and satisfying events we have ever put on.

kindest regards
