Serenity: Better Days will be released this fall. Written by Whedon and Brett Matthews ('Heart Of Gold' and the original comic series) and with art by Will Conrad (who did the mostly excellent art on the first series).

The story will take place pre-movie, so Wash and Book will indeed be in attendance. It is also reported that it will explore a storyline originally planned for the first season.

It has been recently confirmed that Joss Whedon will re team with Brett Matthews to write Serenity: Better Days[/b] for Dark Horse comics to be released in the fall of 2007 as we see what happens when a heist goes right and the crew finds themselves on easy street. "This new story will take place in the 'Firefly' years i.e., everyone's alive," teases Whedon. "Basically, they pull off a heist and everything doesn't go completely wrong. This, needless to say, has never happened, and it's about how they deal with success."

Dark Horse Comics is a big name in the industry -- I imagine any bookstore (Waldenbooks, B. Dalton, Books-A-Million, etc.) will either carry them or happily order them for you.
