I've read Survival Blog for years now, pitched in the 10 cent challenge as well, IMO his archived articles and links pages are the best I've read.

Great blog - and updated daily which is a big plus, but must be time consuming to find the material.

IMO - the book "Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse" is also a great read with a lot of useful information cleverly sprinkled through out it's pages.

I ended up here from there today.
That blog is the first thing that I have read every morning
for the last eight or nine months.
And once a week or so for a couple years.
Found The Gray 90's pre Y2k, became Triple Ought, became Patriots.
A Good source of information.

Yep, read the book - good reading - you don't have to agree with all of it - but I would want Rawles in my neck of the woods when it hits -

My (weekday) mornings all start out the same.  With trembling hands and barely open eyes I take my first sip of coffee.  Once that gets into my blood stream I check out Survival Blog.

As an afterthought I clicked the TMM Forum link from the blog and found this site.  After 30 seconds I was hooked and haven't looked back since.  My morning routine is the same except I now finish my coffee while on this site.

I found this forum from the Survival Blog. It does have a lot of good information and new stuff is posted daily. I ordered the book "Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse" and patiently waiting for it to show up so I can read it.

BTW, have any of you read the book, "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy? I read it and found it be be very interesting.

You cannot match the quality of reference material (multi- thousands of contributors personal experiences and knowledge shared and achived) found in the Survivalblog.com archives for prepper's FREE use. It is quite extensive and grows DAILY.  The editor/s do an awesome job. I have followed that site for many moons.(I usually link to it before I go to bed)
Patriot's and then, his Surviving the Coming Collapse, was awesome.  It's almost foretelling in some accounts of the novel. JW,R's novel writing is steadily improving in quality and content then more he writes. You should read his playscript. It's also posted for the reading on his site. You will see the advancements in his writing skills if you start with that playscript. This is hard to do, when you were great to start out with, in your early publications. It's been a joy watching his success and rewards for all his hard earned quality work. I can't wait to read Mr. Rawles' next novel. Should be coming out soon. He made a post on SurvivalBlog.com requesting interested persons to wait patiently (me, not so patiently waiting) and to use the Amazon.com book purchase "Bomb" day to purchase his next newest released book. This will help the books ratings for send off marketing, by the sheer volume of purchases on the same day. So, if you're into his writing style (I am), then hold off until he reminds us AGAIN of the date to make your purchase of the book. This volume ordering will also drive the purchase price, down. Economy of scale!
JW,R, if you're readingthis, Please repost and remind us again, both here on TMM and on SurvivalBlog.
