Yes, but I don't see any evidence that these are mutually exclusive conditions.  Some folks can be both, and more.

I do wonder why we spend so much time discussing these power damaged people and their antics. They seem to deserve each other in this case. A pox on both of them.

There is a difference between profiling and matching a description.

Back in the day, me and three friends(all punk rockers) were driving home from our second-shift job.  We were pulled over by some suburban pig who said we "fit the description" of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run.

This car was brand-new.  Not a scratch, not a dent, a bird hadn't even shit on it.  And yet, we must have been involved in a H&R.  Yeah fucking right.   

Sorry, from my experience, "fit a description" is mostly bullshit.  It's just a plausible excuse.

The woman, identified in a police report on file in Cambridge District Court as 40-year-old Lucia Whalen, saw the backs of both men and did not know their race when she called 911, said Wendy J. Murphy, a Boston lawyer from New England School of Law. Whalen phoned police, Murphy said, because she was aware of recent break-ins in the area.

In an interview last night, Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert C. Haas said it was ac curate that Whalen did not mention race in her 911 call. He acknowledged that a police report of the incident did include a race reference. The report says Whalen observed “what appeared to be two black males with backpacks on the front porch’’ of a Ware Street home on July 16.

That reference is there, said Haas, because the police report is a summary. Its descriptions - like the race of the two men - were collected during the inquiry, not necessarily from the initial 911 call, he said.

Why is it such a big deal is people don't like others of another race?  (rhetorical)  While I am not white I don't dislike white people but I PREFER people that look and have the same backround as me.  Some of my good friends are (dare I say it) WHITE people.  Who gives a crap.  Obama is no better, he and his wife are racist too. 

What do you call a white guy who goes out and PROMOTES white people and white programs and listens to white people talk about old darky.  You call them racist.

That's the thing.  Most people prefer to associate with folks with whom they have something in common.  This is why you don't see a lot of truckers and stockbrokers hanging together.  The reason most major cities have a Chinatown/Koreatown/Little Poland/etc.  The reason a lot of folks tend to live (and, when possible, work) among those with the same ethnic, racial, or economic background.

I think we've observed that forced integration only leads to smoldering resentment on all sides.  Let people hang with who they will, and eventually, they'll be curious enough about others to open their minds.  JMO.

As for me, I don't care what color you are, who you screw, what gods, if any, you worship. or what you do for a living.  If you truly believe in liberty for everyone, we're good.
