I want to leave three threads in this forum relating to The Gallatin Valley Patriot despite the change which has occurred. I must announce that I am no longer with the Gallatin Valley Patriot newspaper. I'm now with The Montana Messenger newspaper. Why?
When we began The GV Patriot newspaper, Joan, Don, and self were respectively "publisher", "editor", and "assistant editor". When the first issue of the GV Patriot was printed, I noticed that a couple of my articles were missing from the printed paper. In speaking with the owner of the paper, a nice lady who runs The Big Sky Weekly, Joan, Don, and I were assured that deadline scrunches in the paper's lay-out department were responsible for the ommissions, and that our 2nd issue would certainly be printed just the way the three of us designed it to be.
That turned out to not be true. On the second issue of the GV Patriot eleven articles were replaced by articles which Joan, Don, and self had never seen before. One article in particular, supportive of the illusion of the so-called "War on Terror", irritated me greatly, for it ran contrary to our mission statement. Also missing from that edition of the GV Patriot was the promised article on Oath Keepers.
Joan, Don, and self pow-wowed and decided to walk. But first we pled our complaint with the paper's owner. We were unable to reach consensus on the direction of, and editorial policy of, the paper, so we walked out. Joan, Don, and self then discussed creating a paper of our own, one in which we could dish the truth as we wished. We would have to obtain services from a printing company, and we would need to hire a lay-out guy, and we would have to arrange or create other elements which are necessary in producing a newspaper.
All of that has to do with why I've not said much here at TMM for a long time. But now I'm ready to announce that Joan now owns a new newspaper named The Montana Messenger. She is the publisher/owner; I am the editor; Don is my assistant editor. And in this new venture, we're empowered to actually do the publishing and the editing. We are excited, and we are proud of the paper we're taking to the printer next week.
Because the idea for The Montana Messenger was born out of our brief sojourn as staff at The Gallatin Valley Patriot, I wish to leave the three threads which I created under the heading of the GV Patriot here on this forum. I've changed the forum's name to The Montana Messenger, but do not want to lose the history of our morphing into The Montana Messenger. This thread will remained locked except to Administrators here at TMM. What follows below is just what I had written before "the fall".

Welcome!
I'll use this thread to introduce a new project originating in the Gallatin Valley in southwestern Montana.
The Gallatin Valley Patriot is a brand new monthly paper with a launch date of Friday, August 14, 2009. On that date the paper will 'hit the street' in southwest Montana from West Yellowstone to White Hall to Livingston - a broad swath of America's "last best place". Our largest number of distribution locations is in Bozeman, Montana.
The idea to do this paper came in part from a glaring omission by local media/press services regarding coverage of the 2009 Fourth-of-July Bozeman Tea Party - But - this paper did not get created just to fill a gap in local coverage by media/press organizations. While it will in some ways do that, the more central purpose of this paper is to share suppressed knowledge in ways which shall help unify our communities, families, and local support systems.
This paper promises to be a unique paper, tastefully but boldly done by a small band of Montana patriots. There will be a website very shortly. We shall seek support from friendly website operations via banner exchange etc.
I'll be adding details presently. I will lock this thread but will add to it as we get the board going.
