Garden Hand Tools
« on: August 14, 2009, 11:29:58 pm »

Just refound this site today.  They look like excellent tools and hope to be able to get a scuffle hoe from them before next year.  The prices are pretty good.

My most used harvesting tool is a kama.
It is a kind of sickle from the Orient.
After I got it, I wondered what I ever did without it.

I've used hand sickles and cane knives.  Also like scythes., but some times it is difficult to get the handles adjusted so that my back doesn't hurt.

Thanks for the link! those do indeed look like good garden tools. Old disc harrow blades should an excellent steel for the purpose. They are also one of the better recycling businesses I have seen.

Real steel, not Chinese that rusts away in about a year.

Also some of the tools have extra long handles.
