Burt: "People call me overprepared.  Paranoid.  Even a little crazy.  But they never met ******* life forms, have they?"

Insert whatever the latest likely to eat you lifeform may be instead of the ******.  And my answer, hells yes.  I see wolfies in my area, no discussion, they's getting shot.  Its bad enough with stupid neighbors letting their aggressive dogs off leash while they go to work.  Wolves aren't as stupid as aggressive dogs.  They actually DO know how to kill things and if they're wolves and not pups, they've had practice.  Practice = working knowledge.  I ain't takin' that risk.  Like you said, if you can see them the stalk has begun.  Know what the nice part of seeing them is?

We can also apply line of sight, line of shot.  Tee hee.  I moved out here to be able to be responsible for my ass and the asses of those I care for.  Coincidentally, wolves endanger said asses.  If I see them during the stalk, tough shit for them, I'm always armed, even in the john.  :D

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Wolves do have a place in nature- as long as they keep their distance from man and his domesticated beasts.   I will find a tree and be up it about 2 heartbeats after I see a wolf, and start whitling down the pack with gunfire.  With luck a neighbor will hear the multitude of shots and investigate under the "Mutual Defense Treaty"...........

The tree is to keep one of the pack from hamstringing me while I am shooting one of the distractors- pack hunters are probably the most dangerous predators on the planet.........

........Duct tape is like the force, it has a light side, a darkside and holds the universe together.  It is theoretically reinforced with strings too.  (The dome has a darkside, lightside and strings of rebar for reinforcement too!)

Most of the time news is about the same old violations of the first principles of consent and golden rule with a dash of force thrown in........ with just enough duct tape to be believable.
