I Just Met Boston
« on: November 06, 2005, 04:22:31 pm »

What an unexpected pleasure! Went to the Tanner Gun show in Denver today. Walked by a table with a stack of each of Boston's books. Said to the guy, "You must really like Boston, eh?"

"I don't know what you mean by that", he replied.

Well, danged if it wasn't the man himself. Had a nice little chat for a bit about FSW, and the weather in NE Wyoming.

And of course I got an autographed copy of Molon Labe. ;D

I also managed, just barely, to restrain myself from buying some more knives, so it's been a good day.

Thanks for that, guys.  It was my pleasure as well.

I sometimes sell books at shows, primarily to meet my readers.
It helps to remind me why I write.

Is there some way we can get a little advance notice of your appearances? I sometimes schedule "meetups" at gun shows. It'd be my pleasure to post a "Meet Boston T. Party at the {fill in the blank} Gun Show" announcement. I typically hit the Tanner and Crossroads shows. Got to be a few in Wyoming as well, and that'd make a fine day trip for me.

I'm flattered, of course, but assuming that even I had much advance notice of
my own appearances (i.e., I pop up primarily on the spur of the moment), I am
not inclined to publicize them for reasons of general privacy.  I wish it were otherwise,
but I must be careful in what I do and how I do it.
