Rebekah Shockley couldn't have had a better start to her young hunting career. On Nov. 23, 2009, the 13-year-old from Belgrade bagged a four-by-six bull elk and a five-point buck only minutes apart on a hunt just west of the Bridger Mountains.

Shockley and guide Brian Barnhart, of Belgrade, were approaching a buck they spotted when they saw a bull elk just 150 yards away. It was an unexpected encounter as most elk had moved higher in the hills at that point in the season. ...<snip>...
