Senator Jim Shockley voted against the Sheriffs First bill. He made several noteworthy statements regarding his "nay" vote. I've spent three nights drawing up an open letter to share with him and a lot of other people. Caution: this is a very long piece, even by my standards. You'll need more than one cup of coffee to get through this one. I hope those of you who do shall feel it was worth the time.

Excellent work as usual, Elias.  I think many in the freedom movement are understanding that this battle can only be won through the hearts and minds of individuals; if we don't light the fire within the hearts of a large number of folks, almost anything will cause people to jump off the proverbial bandwagon when the pressure's on.  Whether or not you've convinced Senator Shockley might be immaterial.  The true test of this tome will be, how many regular folks came to a better understanding of the mental battle as a result of this open letter?  Thank you for taking the time to write this, in the midst of everything else you've got going on right now.

Thanks, freewoman. I've packed a lot of stuff into one open letter, and it's likely that most folks won't even finish reading it. However, some will, and hopefully a number of our legislators will read it. I'm going to send it out in an email blast tonight to several hundred people, including a number of Senators and all of the House of Representatives. My goal is to force Senator Shockley to read it by reminding him that many of his peers in the legislature will be reading it - he will have to read it if his peers start talking about it to him, as some of them certainly will. Thank you for reading it! You're one of the best freedom fighters out there, because you walk the walk on top of talking the talk.

Salute!
