the final cut
« on: January 25, 2012, 11:57:52 pm »

Okay, don't know if this is the best place for this. I have always considered myself a Pink Floyd fan. Saw them live performing Dark Side of the Moon in 75 at three rivers stadium. But somehow I totally missed The Final Cut.
Listen to this thing. I mean really listen.

Been listening to them since 1974's release of Dark Side of the Moon. The Final Cut didn't get my attention much when it came out, but has definitely grown on me over the years. Never fully listened to the lyrics before, and am web surfing while listening now (to my own CD rip, not the YouTube version Ragnar linked).

LOL. Guess where I got my forum name. I use this name all the time in many forums that I belong to and most people think it has something to do with a film editing program.I say " No, it's a Pink Floyd song and album title" and they look at me like I am nuts and say "I never heard of that one".lol.

Sweet my first post and something I feel qualified to talk about. The Final Cut is a great album even if its essentially a waters solo album. Nobody has ever heard of it cause there arent any radio friendly singles on it....the closest being 'not now john'. Gilmore called it leftovers from 'the wall' but I like it. Damn I should have used used the name 'the rusty wire'....that holds the cork that keeps the anger in....Also to the poster Finalcut, I knew you had to be a floyd fan...takes one to know one.

I have it on vinyl!  O0 Always liked the Final Cut album. The fact that it didn't get over cooked on the radio is a bonus. "Animals" anyone?
