Yet the movie was filling while soulless, a Denny’s grilled cheese.

Wow.  I liked it WAY more than that guy, obviously.

Rey is awesome, both character and actor.  Great fun chemistry with her and Finn.  I agree with many who have said she's a little too[/] amazing, really.  She's pretty much the only character in any of the movies who never got rescued by anyone else.  I think this is some PC / feminist overcompensation, which is fine, as long as they make her actually need her friends as the story progresses.

I even like whiney-bitch Kilo Ren.  They have somewhere to go with that character.  His training isn't even complete yet.  He'll grow up.  My prediction is that he'll fall in LOVE.  Maybe and unrequited love for Rey, ala Severus Snape?  Pulls him back into the light?

Anyway...  I enjoyed everything about the movie except for the couple of super-obvious, super-predictable, "OK, now we need to do this" plot turns.

Oh yeah... Chewie is awesome.  Like, best supporting actor nomination awesome.

I'll post more about Maz and the outlaw outpost.  This would be a fantastic setting for libertarian fiction.

"Battle Creek": decorated FBI agent moves to Battle Creek, Michigan and works with local small-town police department. Cute. Interesting twist at the end of the season, which is the end of the show.

Netflix has it for streaming.

Since I was a wee lass to this very day, I get so irked at the end of Episode IV -when they're handing out medals, he doesn't get one! WTF?!  :angry4:

Channel surfed across Kennedy on the Faux Business channel, after waking up too early the other day.
She brings a refreshing perspective to a libertarian bent. Wide ranging, some off beat stuff with a healthy dose of humor. Shitty time slot...........go figure.
There were three college kids on, championing Bernie Sanders. I think they may have written numbers on their parts, so they knew how to put them back together when Kennedy was done with them.
Worth setting your DVR for, or maybe even getting up early.

Been watching the What if We Change series on youtube. It's a series on Ecology and Agriculture around the world. It is hosted by John D. Liu, an American Ecologist and Videographer.

"Lucifer" on Fox. I'm using the Fox Now app on my iPhone, but it's probably available at fox.com.

Satan decides he's sick of hell and moves to LA. He has a British accent. Much hilarity ensues.

I just finished bingeing NCIS,  I manged to find it entertaining, but the amount of power-over everything got pretty annoying at times.

Most of the time news is about the same old violations of the first principles of consent and golden rule with a dash of force thrown in........ with just enough duct tape to be believable.

I am so sorry, DL! That was presumptuous of me to assume you would understand my humor. Despite your Personal Text, you are a sensitive fellow and I should have remembered that from previous encounters. I apologize for not taking your sensibilities into account. I wish you peace and prosperity this Easter! :)

As for Vikings, we are behind a couple of episodes so please allow me to catch up before offering commentary!

Spoiler Alert!

Ragnar gets a little bamboo fever on a ski trip to Aspen (she doesn't look Chinese!)*.
Nearby, Bjorn goes on Spring Break in Vail and gets into a barfight with a grad student from Boulder while ice fishing.
Rollo goes to college in France ... and learns French.
Lagertha shacks up with another clan chieftain in Jackson Hole, Wyoming while on vacation.

.

*Aha! - Vietnam was part of China back then I think:

The 25-year-old Canadian actress isn’t technically Chinese, but of Vietnamese parentage — although her grandmother is half-Chinese.

Sicario - worth a watch
American Sniper - stayed away from this one for awhile due to 'it's pro-war/killing!' or 'support our troops!' reviews - decent flick, though - if you liked 'Hurt Locker' you'll like this one

TV:
*Better Call Saul (it's a slow burn - my imfdb page is growing  http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Better_Call_Saul )
Vikings
Gold Rush is over but Bering Sea Gold is starting up (RIP John Schnabel)
Forged in Fire started its second season on History
local news & South Park reruns

*---

[Mike is in a motel room with an arms dealer, looking at sniper rifles]
Lawson: Good bolt-action rifle, if you jammed it, I'd wager you were setting out to do so. Which brings us to the M40: tried and true, battle-tested. Essentially, the same rifle used by marine snipers since 1966. It's light, accurate, good for soft targets in the 800 to 1,200-meter range. [Mike inspects the rifle] You seem to know this one.
Mike: Oh, yeah. You could say that.
Lawson: That's the A1 model. There's not much change from the original. Biggest difference is the stock, it's fiberglass instead of wood. They changed it over in 1970 or so.
Mike: Good. Wood warped like hell. You get it wet, you put it in the sun... gone. Somebody probably shoulda figured that out before they sent it into a damn jungle.

Well, it cost us an arm and leg (more or less) but by golly it was worth it: we saw Batman vs. Superman. We loved it. I'm not sure I like the portrayal of Lex or Alfred, but I did like Wonder Woman's. Of course, once we get it on DVD then we'll really be able to over-analyze it!

Question: If Lois Lane is pushed off a super tall building in Metropolis, but Superman is out doing something superman-y on the other side of the world, will he make it back in time to catch Lois before she hits the ground? Would it depend on how many stories the building is, how much Lois weighs, or possibly how super Superman really is?
