Question: If Lois Lane is pushed off a super tall building in Metropolis, but Superman is out doing something superman-y on the other side of the world, will he make it back in time to catch Lois before she hits the ground? Would it depend on how many stories the building is, how much Lois weighs, or possibly how super Superman really is?

Sheldon: Are you listening to yourself? It is well established that Superman's flight is a feat of strength. It is an extension of his ability to leap tall buildings, an ability he derives from Earth's yellow sun!

Wolowitz: And you don't have a problem with that? How does he fly at night?

Sheldon: Uh, a combination of the Moon's solar reflection, and the energy storage capacity of Kryptonian skin cells.

Penny: I'm just gonna go wash up.

Leonard: I have 26 hundred comic books in there; I challenge you to find a single reference to "Kryptonian skin cells."

Ah, Mi6, I love it!

I dunno though... "Steel" is not a literal description of his physical body. When he is exposed to kryptonite he is made as vulnerable as humans -his skin can be penetrated. Interesting enough, in the TV show Smallville Clark refrained from any sexual relations out of fear of hurting/maiming/potentially killing his partner. Thus in two different episodes Clark was able to have sex with Lana (don't get me started) after he lost his super powers and another time when he had the super powers and Lana was endowed with super powers.

**spoiler** In the latest movie, though not shown, it is implied that Clark has a sexual relationship with Lois. So I don't know that he would necessarily "slice" someone with just his arms. Of course I'm not a scientific expert in any field nor am I nerdy enough to know for sure. Fun to discuss though!

I would still like to know if Superman could make it in time to save Lois if he was on the other side of the world...

Triple 9 turned out to be a pretty good crime/cop flick.  Many reviewers didn't like it - I think they're used to be fed plot points spoon by spoon ['Who's my widdle reviewer?  Who's my widdle reviewer?   ... yeessss, and here comes a singular plot point wid' a singular character ... whoooosh!']

George, an 18-year-old college drop-out is killed by a toilet seat falling from orbit on her first day of work. She is greeted after her death by the "grim reaper" who freed her soul shortly before the accident. He tells her that she, too, instead of going to the next world, will remain on Earth as a grim reaper.

The reapers have morning meetings at a waffle house, where the boss man hands out sticky notes, each containing first initial, last name, address, and time of death (ToD) for the day's reaps. Each reaper's job is to go to the address, and, shortly before ToD, brush the soul from the soon-to-be-dead person, to save them the experience of death, then to let them know they are dead, and, if they need it, keep them company until their way forward opens up and they disappear from Earth. The reapers know basically nothing about where they go.

Meanwhile, George (short for Georgia), toilet seat girl, secretly follows her family, and works at a temp agency. The reaper job, though mandatory, doesn't pay a dime. But there are perks, for those willing to take them. The newly dead no longer need their property, and their living spaces are often squattable, for a while.

The reapers are incarnate visible to all, but the dead souls are visible only to the reapers and cannot interact with matter. To each other, the reapers appear as they did in life, but to others, they appear entirely different.

Baked, The fact that early users of the term ascribed a different (and wrong in the modern sense) definition merely clouds the ability to properly communicate.

I now prefer (thanks to DiabloLoco)  the modern libertarian term "anarcho-capitalist" as described by wiki :Anarcho-capitalism is a political philosophy that advocates the elimination of the state in favor of individual sovereignty, private property, and free markets. Anarcho-capitalists believe that in the absence of statute (law by decree or legislation), society would improve itself through the discipline of the free market (or what its proponents describe as a "voluntary society").


However, it is referred to as a "political" term, rather than an "economic system" that I used in my original statement.

I just watched season 1 of "Limitless" on Netflix.  I enjoyed it.  Because the main character is such a rebellious fellow, it made it possible for me to enjoy an FBI cop show.
