The Safe Haven State Project
« on: September 14, 2011, 05:55:16 pm »

http://alt-market.com/articles/243-special-message-moving-to-montana

Hey folks!  The Safe Haven State Project has been officially launched and so far the response has been extensive.  To be clear, our focus in the beginning will be Western Montana (yes, right on top of a super-maxi doomsday volcano, which could erupt tomorrow.........or in 10,000 years.  I'm really not concerned).  However, our plans are to expand, and to set up similar projects in a few other states which fit enough parameters to warrant the effort.  In the meantime, for those legitimately interested in relocation to the Western Montana Safe Haven, please contact us here:

chrisbeckman1@yahoo.com

brandon@alt-market.com

Alt-Market coordinator, Chris Beckman, will be the primary organizer for those interested in relocation.

Slow response time and delays in new content to this site are due in large part to my own relocation to Montana over the course of the next week (I am putting my money where my mouth is, as it were...).  Please bear with us while we situate in this new safe haven mode.

The goal is to create opportunities for you, but you, of course, must act to seize upon them.  We aim to help to the best of our ability in making your relocation a success, and to build the foundation on which true alternative markets and liberty minded communities will grow.  I believe the possibility of large scale economic decoupling and independence is now a reality.  The days of waiting for legislators to somehow do the right thing are over.  Bottom up, grassroots solutions are the answer.  It is time to act, not react.  It is time to preempt crisis, instead of waiting, stupified, as it unfolds.  The future is, and always has been, in your hands.  Don't let ANYONE tell you otherwise.

With Regards,

Brandon Smith (Alt-Market Founder)

Have you looked at real estate prices in western Montana? Not exactly affordable the last time I looked.

Land prices reflect relative scarcity, in that most land is tied up in either large ranches or is government land. That, coupled with the fact that western Montana is regarded as a highly desirable place to live by significant numbers of people with financial resources, refugees from the cities. Prices have been dropping substantially after the bubble burst.  But eastern Montana is where you would go to find bargains.

Thanks for the links Basil. I am looking forward to seeing this develop. Hopefully it gets off the ground. Any idea what part of Montana they are looking at, other than just Eastern ? Or is this part of their OPSEC?

Prices all depend on which county they are looking at. For example...

It's western Montana that they are interested in primarily.  Especially the Kalispell area. Eastern Montana does generally have lower prices, and people moving there could also help with the statewide pro-freedom political struggle.
