Just seems strange, Destin, that I have not heard those stories or problems from anyone but you. Wonder how that works. It's not as if I don't ever talk to anyone.
I haven't either. A bizarre post there Destin. People around here don't much care for fedguv and everything it represents. So where is where all these problems you talk about. I want to avoid that place.
I went to a meeting the other night in town with an empty holster. At the end of the meeting a guy came up to me and said you don't have to be concerned about carrying and pulled back his shirt to show a sidearm and then said there are at least four of us carrying right now.
Sorry, can't give more details. I know for a fact that at least 3 FSW'ers who moved to a certain town in Crook County got run out of town, one moved south somewhere, one left eastward and the other just got his lucrative government contracts cancelled and got stabbed in the back, far as I heard. I haven't seen hide nor hair of any of them since. We used to get together at shoots, but I haven't seen any of them at a shoot in awhile.
Spearfish is a lot nicer to live in, if you're going to be political and "anti government." Gillette is too much like "little big city." The Big Horns offer some nice towns, a few too many socialist college students and professors... still, fun to be there as rarely as I go. Rapid City is fun, but too many cop cars too close together to live there. Hot springs... now THAT is a town. Small, cops are polite, everyone around is pleasant, etc.
As for me, I keep my views largely to myself and those whom I know can handle the fact that I don't need big mama government to tell me which way to flush my toilet or how to eat my bread so I don't *gasp* get hurt by stray crumbs.
I also am not interested in getting involved in politics, I know its evil, I know its adherents are "sinful" in that they use an evil tool to try to get ahead, and in the end, they merely make the tool more powerful for the next evil guy to take it over and use it, regardless their initial reasons and nobility in grasping the Sword of Ultimate Politickal Evil +5 Godslayer, that weapon changes the alignment of its wielder. No matter how Lawful Good you were when you grabbed it, you'll be made Pretty Fsck'n Evil by the end of the game if you keep wielding sentient evil.
Just my ten cents, and I love them D&D metaphors. So applicable... and so accurate.
