Dried fruit is certainly "real" food. :) I don't have a problem with a little prepared stuff now and again either, just wouldn't want it as a steady diet and much prefer the real, whole foods when I can get them. Not always an option here, unfortunately. My garden is now under the snow.

It is sad to think that children can no longer even identify common vegetables.

As for the parents, I suspect most would have zero interest in either taking the time to prepare whole foods or having a garden. They have other priorities these days. And they are welcome to them, of course.

All the more for us one of these days. :)

a lot of the "Dried" banana chips are actually fried, and most of the dried food I see in the markets have so many additive beyond what is required......   Even the whole fruit are suspect because of the frankenfood and pesticide issues........   I feel very lucky that I can get a fair amount of my home grown stuff because I know exactly what is "In" it.

I am amazed at the kids not knowing the foods mostly because the parents are obviously focused else where which means we will be dealing with feral humans for the most part.........

........Duct tape is like the force, it has a light side, a darkside and holds the universe together.  It is theoretically reinforced with strings too.  (The dome has a darkside, lightside and strings of rebar for reinforcement too!)

Most of the time news is about the same old violations of the first principles of consent and golden rule with a dash of force thrown in........ with just enough duct tape to be believable.
