No shows in this area until March. My gun club holds the first one around here each year. Can't wait!

The gun show was plenty of fun as usual.  A few guys working the tables told me that is was the quietest show in awhile.  (I imagine their history goes back to the Sandy Hook days when these shows were absolutely packed with customers.)  There was quite a bit of 22lr around but in the 11 to 13 per round range.  I have enough stockpiled so I won't pay those prices... yet.  Reloading components were plentiful, including powder.  Handgun prices were pretty decent.  I looked at a S&W 38spc snubby for $299 that almost came home with me.  Rifles prices were also not surprising.  Oodles of AR-related goodies.  I found 30-round Pmags for $10.  Couple of years ago I bought them for $30.  I found what I was looking for though: a stock for my 98K Mauser.  Previous owner destroyed it by trying to 'sporterize' the stock so I now have all I need to bring it back to its former glory.

I've been toying with this idea for several years, but now have made up my mind. I'm going to have a table at our club's gun show this next time. But I don't have much "gun stuff" to offer. :) I'm making some nice vests, and a few leather things, but the main offering will be all of the upholstery weight cowhides that have cluttered my storage room for so many years. I had planned to make lots of things with them, but lost the sewing machine that could sew them.... and I don't have the money to replace it. Such is life.

There is a vendor at the show I attend that has plenty of leather stuff to offer - his table is always busy.  Plus I love the smell...

just got back from the show in Rapid City, SD.

not a bad show, not as big as I would have thought, but lots of guns there.
most where leveler action, then bolt guns, not many AR or AK's.
Lots of pistols, kind of weak on the reloading stuff.
some non gun junk too.

Cedar Rapids, IA

Feb 5-7
Fri 5pm-9pm
Sat 9am-5pm
Sun 9am-3pm

I missed the one last month due to financial issues (ie, dry bank account!) but I'm hoping to hit this next one.  I'm curious as to what the overall mood will be with all the rumors of Obozo's supposed EOs coming down the pike.

One of the several odd jobs that I have (to keep the wolf from the door) is to carry away the cardboard boxes that brand new rifles and ammo are packaged in from one of the LGS's.
I usually make a "pickup" once a month. Since obummer has been running his yap I have had to go to twice a month pick ups.

Not only is he "Salesman of the Century" he has doubled my income for the month of December. I wonder about the rest of his tenure? I sure could use the extra frns to bolster the ammo larder.

I hear ya.  The local gun shop I frequent is nearly always busy.  Even on Tuesday afternoons.

You forgot Newcastle!

Gun Show - Newcastle, Wyoming March 19 & 20, 2016
Weston County Sportsman's Club, sponsor

I don't know the exact dates of the show in Upton this year, but that's a good show too.
