Amazon has "Founders: A Novel of the Coming Collapse", released on July 30, and "Expatriates: A Novel of the Coming Global Collapse", to be released on October 1. I got the free Kindle sample of "Founders...". It has an "Author's introductory note" saying that though this is a sequel to two earlier books, it can be read independently, losing only some backstory of some of the characters. The opening chapter is entitled "Hammer Time".

His books I'll think about, but his overpriced survival course that is chock full of stuff you will find all over the internet if you explore the links he has and links you can find here.......in GREATER depth.........

He is providing a service, but is over charging for it.

He may  not like this but I was able to find all of the books in like new condition at a very reasonable price.

There are volumes of information integrated with the story that can be highlighted for future reference.

I'll be looking forward to  "finding a deal" on the next book.

I wrote a review of Founders last October. I won't be buying this one. At least not at full retail.

I've read all the book series up to Survivors but haven't put up any reviews myself yet. But what I can recommend is: If you must buy the books after his first one, buy them Used and wait until you get a very good used price for them. I will read his next book, only for completeness <is that even a word?>.

I really only continue with his books for the gizmos I may not be aware of. Such as the little short-wave radio one of the character uses Morse Code with. And maybe some insight on some of the other than retreat scenario he recommends, like, this is why not.

Basically that may be the best one, but I don't believe it to be the only one.

The biggest problem with Rawles is that he is too "I did what I did because I did it". He is way too set in "buying a mountain property and stock it full of stuff and live there" shit. Not everyone can afford to buy a kind of place describes. And don't get me started on his aversion to ocean bugouts.
Especially if you'd expect the rough stuff to last less than a few years.

The biggest problem with Rawles is that he is too "I did what I did because I did it".

Don't plan to join him anywhere, or anyone else either, so none of his stuff bothers me. He's entitled to his opinion, just like the rest of us.  ^_^

I haven't read them all, but the later works are better novels - and he got complaints
because of it. Some folks expect to keep getting equipment catalogs with a plot thread
running through it... oh well, can't please everybody....
