Amazing... we have such conditions here more or less frequently and nobody panics. I went to the store Friday to get milk, and there were no more customers there than ever. We never used to know about this "wind chill" stuff... the temperature was the temperature, and you didn't go out if you didn't have to when it was below zero.
It was 5 degrees outside this morning at 4AM, dropped to zero by 8, and is now back up to 2 degrees at about 9:30. Supposed to drop to -12 by this evening, then to -16 or so by morning. The wind does make a difference, because the heat just gets sucked out much faster. I remember one morning a few years ago waking to -27. Now THAT was interesting. BRRR
