Divergent Series
« on: February 01, 2015, 01:59:20 am »

Just finished the Trilogy of the Divergent Series.

http://www.amazon.com/Veronica-Roth/e/B004FX672S/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1

The first book has many aspects the Freedom Lover will like. The second book is good. The ending of the third book is a real kick in the head.

The Trilogy as a whole is actually pretty good.

Recommended.

I watched the movie Divergent the other night. I had a problem with the end of it.
It's pretty clear that the blond witch will be back at it after she recovers from the
drug, and while the plot was stopped temporarily, there is no doubt there will be
a regrouping and another attempt.

Maybe it's just the brown coat in me, but I think she would have been improved
by a bullet in the brain pan, and then sticking around to see the the surviving SOBs
are brought to trial.

Of course, that would have made a much shorter story arc. :D

The books are better than the movie.

Like them all, but the end.

I haven't read the books, but saw the movie.  If you haven't seen "Honest Trailers" on YouTube, they're pretty hilarious.  Here's the Honest Trailer for Divergent.
