Disappearing .pdf file?
« on: January 11, 2015, 09:52:26 pm »

Elias,

I've been attempting to download the .pdf file referenced in your first MindWar post, the FM manual on UW.

When I download/open the file with Adobe, I get the through the table of contents, the file locks up and then, literally, disappears.  This happened three times in a row.  So, I tried the download/save option, and the file shows up in my download folder, but when I open the file, after about ten seconds, it closes itself.  Tried this two times.

So, what's up?  Is there a self-destruct option on this file?  Or am I doing someting completely wrong.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey CL,
Sorry to have been away for so long! Am just now seeing this.

Please try this link -- http://fas.org/irp/doddir/army/fm3-05-130.pdf
I just now tried it and it opened the file just right. If your browser doesn't open the file, then you may have a browser issue. If your browser does open the file, then just click "File" and then "save as", and you should then have a copy of the file on your hard-drive. You can then share it with others via email by simply attaching your personal file from your hard-drive.
But again, I apologize for finding your post here so late, ack! Also, let me know if you still can't capture the file, and I'll email my file to you.
Thanks CL,
Salute!
Elias

Worked for me (fas.org link).  3.8MB download.  FM 3-05.130 manual 248 pages.  Isn't there a Windows open source PDF reader?  I forget.  [Edit:  http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/  - this is free - haven't used.]

Searched for 'FM3-05.130' on google and came up with a bunch of links.  The one below had 'file' (pdf) or 'torrent' or 'magnet' (?) links to download

https://wikileaks.org/wiki/US_Army_Special_Operations_Forces_Unconventional_Warfare,_FM3-05.130,_30_Sep_2008

---
The 248-page document presents the September 2008 revision of the US Army Field Manual (FM) 3-05.130, Army Special Operations Forces Unconventional Warfare, establishing keystone doctrine for Army special operations forces (ARSOF) operations in unconventional warfare (UW). The purpose of the manual is to be useful to understanding the nature of UW and its role in the nation's application of power.

Thanks for letting me know, mi6a2lm.

It is a valuable document to have on one's computer for reference. They (the mil-ind complex) are now speaking openly of an Unconventional Warfare "exercise" in the American southwest. The exercise will run for three months.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/258605525/Jade-Helm-Martial-Law-WW3-Prep-Document-1#scribd

Note that the training will use our military's "elite" Special Operations forces. It is not an infantry exercise. There will be men involved in civilian clothes and using civilian automobiles. They are also planning to use "Interagency" personnel, which means DHS, FEMA, DOJ, State and Local LEO task forces, etc. This exercise has a very bad smell to it, and is obviously geared toward subjugating citizens -- not, as they purport, to "fight America's enemies". (Their statement on that reflects a bold-faced lie.)

I recommend strong caution when downloading anything, yes? ;)

http://fas.org/irp/doddir/army/fm3-05-130.pdf

http://file.wikileaks.org/file/us-fm3-05-130.pdf

Both worked.  Now, the information contained therein ... well ... .  One can probably d/l FMF-6-5 but it's useless.

For those not in the know:

Fleet Marine Force Manuals (FMFMs)

Now one can be super-duper hard-core.
