  Failed to address this , personally I think they are preparing for some sort of threat that has been deemed " credible".
 
   Could it potentially be about the coming crumbling of the economy , I don't think so *specifically* , however it's a given that in the martial law scenario they would benefit from having those units in place.
 
   Do I think there will be an economic meltdown , yes I do , and part of that will be based upon oil and the manipulation of that commodity.

Thx for responding. If/when this "credible" threat manifests/is created/manufactured, do you think that martial law will be confined to specific areas, such as large cities? Regional? Nationwide?

personal, I think it will be only in large cities.
as much as the PTB want to control everything, they just do not have the manpower, or material to control outside of major cities. and not get they asses kicked.
move outside the cites, the cites start burning again. go back to the cites, the country folks go back to what they do. but each time they move, they lose more personal and material.

anyway, when/if it does happen. It will be like a show trial.

   My opinion is rather similar in nature to Julio's , I beleive that they'll start in the urban areas and go from there , to a degree the reality is they don't have to actually completely control the " countryside " , they will control the transportation corridors initially and in so doing "pacify" a good portion of the rural areas simply through supply logistics.

Well....Then I guess that it's a good thing that most of us here at TMM can last for a LONG TIME without having to resupply.

I could be (and most likely AM) wrong about this, but my instincts are still telling me that there will be severe economic turmoil starting in October. Do you think that's what this is all about?

Yeah, I had those same instincts in 2006 about 2010/2011.  I MOVED to Wyoming following those instincts.  Talk about making my very own prophecy of doomsaying very much real by making it real myself.  Now I'm living in a small depression of my own making, trading a good rep, and a damn good life, and two fairly affluent (or at least SOLVENT) businesses, for what... some patriot bullshit that turned out to be just that?  BULLSHIT?  Yeah... be very careful letting fear dictate your thoughts.  I'll paraphrase Galt here: "When your heart and your mind give you conflicting suggestions... follow your mind."  Ask all the right questions, and temper gut instinct with rational thought.  Both are useful combined.

If you can afford it, keep a business in town, and a small hideaway in the hills.  If you have to John Galt it, have the place ready, supplied and concealed.  If you need power for your lifestyle and don't feel like living a medieval lifestyle praising the sky god for rain and sunshine... you better build Galt's motor.  If not... stone shrines are easier to build, especially with slave labor.

That said, keep in mind that the government people require regular honest, SKILLED people to work.  Their whole premise, psychos that they are, is still to have people worship them and do work for them.  You think these guys would be happy without us doing their work and giving them appreciation for their "service" ??  Sure, some military guys are really skilled.  Sure, I've met a few.  And yet, the vast majority I've known are as sloppy as everyone else I've known.  Sloppier than hell.  So in reality, if someone says the military will do the work and kill everyone else, you forget that the military are also humans.  Brainwashed or not, the majority will do just enough work not to get chewed out or fired, and not enough to call it splendid.  Splendid work has almost 99.9999% if not the whole 100% been done by private people for private reasons.

This is also why the tyranny machine always required our help to tyrannize us.  Its not just imperfect or flawed, but its a piece of crap that required the gullible faith of the fools it was meant to oppress.  It never successfully oppressed brilliant people.  It either killed them, or lost its grip on them.
