"Conservation" pigs "feel threatened" by little pigs now
« on: April 07, 2015, 07:35:32 pm »

I was reading about the "Jeremy Clarkson" fiasco and was reminded of the time he said something like "in America you need a permit to do everything" and he often (on the show "Top Gear") referred to the USA as "the United States of Paranoia".  I don't remember whether or not these comments engendered any complaints, but this is certainly an example of this.  Americans do have the reputation of being a people who can, and do, laugh at themselves and see humour in most things, we make jokes about things like this, but it getting "over the top" and not funny any more.

The "Police abuses" board might not be appropriate, but then "conservation officers/police officers" (or conservation pigs and police pigs), all pretty much the same really, I'm sure they put themselves in the same category.

(Disclaimer:  I am not being anti-American, or dis'ing America.  Please don't take it that way)

A Michigan family is seeking justice after their pet miniature potbelly pig was shot and killed by a Department of Natural Resources (DNR) officer last week.

“Actually, I am responsible for the missing pig…” the officer reportedly said. “He came out of the woods at me running at a trotting pace and I felt threatened so I shot and killed him”.

In a state of complete disbelief and anger, the family says the officer then began to change his story in an apparent attempt to appease them.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Mouse:

Feel Free to Dis the US any which way that you choose to.

I might disagree with a few of your line items but I'd heartily agree with the summation.

After an honest appraisal of what I read:

The US is probably still the Most Free Government to live under…

It is not nearly free enough and it get less free every day.

The politicians may be idiots—I'm sure that some of them are—while others wear a Clown's mask to better attack you when you underestimate his dangerousness and diabolic deviousness.

I'd like  to see things improved, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yes, I understand that many of us would prefer little or no government…

But please, let's role-play for a moment and imagine that we're Statists.

And yes, since the majority don't seem to want out from under some sort of government canopy…

The country could—in theory—be well managed much the way one would manage a very large corporation…

But no, it's being ran by dudes who have to open their fly and pull out their tallywhacker to count to 11.

Consider:

GETTING Elected takes one skill-set.

GOVERNING requires a whole different skill-set.

One will be good at both only as a very rare exception—like being 100% Ambidextrous AND having Absolute Pitch.

Feared for his life after being "charged" by a > MINIATURE < pot bellied pig?

What's next, "I thought that house cat was going to pounce on me and drag me up a tree to devour me. You know they do that!"
