Fairfax County Public Schools released a report recommending changes to their family life curriculum for grades 7 through 12. The changes, which critics call radical gender ideology, will be formally introduced next week.

“The larger picture is this is really an attack on nature itself – the created order,” said Peter Sprigg of the Family Research Council.

“Human beings are created male and female. But the current transgender ideology goes way beyond that. They’re telling us you can be both genders, you can be no gender, you can be a gender that you make up for yourself. And we’re supposed to affirm all of it.”

The plan calls for teaching seventh graders about transgenderism and tenth graders about the concept that sexuality is a broader spectrum — but it sure smells like unadulterated sex indoctrination.

"Progress" in government "schools" is fueling very healthy growth in homeschooling. I haven't heard, but it should also be lighting up private schools. Anybody left behind (in the exodus) has the misfortune to be in the care of brain-dead parents.

Now that is darn near poetic... 

Every year our church recognizes seniors about to graduate.  Two years ago ~10% of the students stated they 'graduated' from homeschool.  This year I noticed the percentage had jumped to 25%.  Also, a couple times a year my wife gets a call from a friend of a friend who is thinking about homeschooling their kids.  The more tightly the fed.gov squeezes the schools, the more kids will slip through their fingers.

Transgender individuals are real. They are also a tiny minority. About as worthwhile a part of a mainstream education as Crohn's Disease, i.e. worth a mention on one page of a health textbook, but not much more.

But people don't get beaten up or killed for having Crohn's Disease.   People do get beaten up or killed for being gay or transgender, or even if they aren't, but the assailants think they might be.    Hence the group Pink Pistols.

And to beg the question:  if folks here believe in self-ownership, of mind, body and soul, why couldn't someone choose to be a different gender than what they were born with?   I wouldn't consider the Family Research Council to be a libertarian organization.

I'm not sure anyone at TMM would have a problem with someone choosing their "gender," any more than anything else. What most of us do have a problem with is aggression shown by so many who so choose... They don't seem to want to be left alone, or to leave everyone else alone... but seem happy to use the power of government and false guilt to force others to accept them, even approve them, or even live at other's expense. Of course, that goes for anyone else forcing anything on others.

And no, the Family Research Council doesn't strike me as a "libertarian" organization either.

The only real answer is to get children out of the government indoctrination centers, as fast as possible. It is still unfortunate that the indoctrination being given is devoid of science, logic or ethics. sigh

I have absolutely no problem with people deciding which gender they are, or painting their hair pink. Or whatever. I wear a kilt. I have a problem with them thinking it's my responsibility to care about it. Or with them using my extorted tax money to support their agenda.
