* Destin Faruda formatted this with several addressees and used some color to break up the sections into more easily digestible pieces for those not inclined to read the whole thing... If you see your name in color, that section is for you specifically.
* Destin Faruda tried to keep it somewhat funny on a somewhat sore subject.
No M.L. *YOU* give it a rest with your incessant portrayal of those who " dare" to state the realities of Wyo as some sort of " snivelers who can't cope".......because it's bullshit.
Truth is truth , you can try to muzzle it and paint a rosy picture if you wish.
Really? Can you link to some examples? I seem to remember stating my own personal experiences and being vilified for that. But maybe not. Examples would help.
Interesting that you and DF can have very strongly worded opinions, but mine are not acceptable... Why is that, I wonder?
Woah, woah woah! Whenever did I say that I didn't approve of you voicing yours, darlin' ?
Seriously, the big problem in Wyoming is that if you're old folks looking to retire, have a nest egg, and don't care for local work (pension, soc/sec, military bennies, etc) then YOURE SET. I'm not aiming that at any particular people, but lets face it, other than oil work (now dead) and mine work (being slowly dying) Wyoming has NOTHING but government.
This should be VERY RELEVANT TO YOUNG LIBERTARIANS OR MARKET ANARCHISTS SEEKING TO MOVE HERE.
See, if you move to a place where people talk nice to your face, and then avoid you business wise... and talk trash behind your back... that's a bad place to be.
--------------------------------
@Moonbeam:Actually dear, I'm doing it specifically to warn potential other movers. See, most of the other freestate boys and girls I knew who ARE YOUNG (at least as young as I am, or younger) have ALL run off. Moved out of state, or out of country (I know one personally.)
People burn A LOT OF MONEY moving out here. Wyoming is cheap rent, but cheap rent plus long travel distances, plus hostile locals plus low local incomes and businesses unwilling to spend money except with their cousin's cousin's daughter... well, that's a recipe for disaster... financial disaster.
Which brings me to:
----------------------------
@JulioI'd love to buy your place and move to an area where there's money to be made, but lets face it... I am spoiled on guns. I'd like to get back to making money AND shooting guns. In that case, DENVER would look better than Chicago. At least in Denver, they're working to remove those mag limitations those idiots in the state government worked to put in.
That said, Texas is looking more and more appealing by the day. Not sure about all the Corexit and oil mixtures wafting about the gulf there... but the inland areas are starting to look more and more appealing.
Wait... didn't @bennie say something about Texas being pretty freakin' cool to live in... other than the (now defunct) carry/print issues with guns?
