I am required to "renew" my DL by September this year. I've been reading about the new requirements, and the state website entry on it. Very confusing, and uncomfortable, but I didn't see anything they are demanding that is not already part of the "public record," so I wasn't worried.
Originally, it seemed I would need to gather all sorts of "official" documents to prove my birth, all name changes, and quite a few other things. Turns out I was wrong.
Got a letter from the state transportation office with a form to use to renew my DL by mail. The instructions that came with it are quite clear. The only documents they want are copies of two utility bills to "prove" my residence in WY and my address. Same application form I filled out four years ago, far as I can see. That, and $15. will do the job.
However, we can only use the mail renewal every other time. In four years, I'll have to go into the office here in town.
