Blizzard on it's way for most of Iowa.  Freezing rain starts tonight followed by 3-5 inches of snow followed by more rain.  Thank goodness I have a snow blower.  Kids will be loving it though, will make for excellent fort making and snowball wars.

Slow going for about 20 mi on road ... about 40mi east of Phoenix.  Mon. Feb.1, 2016.

Temp in the '20's this morning in Globe.  Water fountain outside assisted living facility:

On the other hand!:

Sunday might be fishin' day at Tempe Town Lake.

Arizona Department of Game and Fish has removed catch limits at the lake until it is drained. There will be no water in the lake from Feb. 10 to April 30 as the city finishes replacing the dam at the west end of the lake.

When they decide not to enforce catch limits, what they are doing is saying is Get your fill any species pull them out of the lake and we are going to drain it so we want it empty, KTAR Get Outdoors Host Mike Russell said.

The forecast is off the tracks, by a large margin. Predicted high today was 30 degrees. It is now 44 and climbing. Snow was predicted for today too, but the sun is bright with a few high clouds. The little bit of snow we got earlier is gone now. Nice part is that there wasn't enough to form a lot of mud after it melted either. Laddie does not like having his paws washed and wiped. :) Not to mention  his belly... those short legs, you know.

Warm spell here. High yesterday was 44. Forecast for last night was 20, but it was 29 this morning at 5AM. High predicted for today is 34. Very light snow now, only 20% predicted for today. Very unusual for February, for sure.

32F with a dusting of snow on the ground and very light snowfall. Expected high today 34F.

Warmer this weekend, but still freezing lows. End-of-week forecast for almost seasonably cold, highs in the twenties and low in single digits.

light breeze.

Light Breeze?

What is a light breeze to you?

Here in Wyoming a light breeze is 15 to 20 mph
a strong wind is 30 to 40 mph
High wind warnings go out at over 65 mph

Not all of Wyoming. Here in Newcastle we have days of NO wind, sometimes many days together. A friend put up a small wind generator, supposed to be good down to 5 MPH. He took it down because there wasn't enough wind to even turn the blades much of the time.

Now, we do have wind at times. Usually just at the start of a good storm. We don't pay much attention to it. :)

There are about 12 of those big wind turbines out east of Casper.
they have to stop running them from time to time because they put out too much electricity for the city to use.
maybe it is just in the Casper area with all the wind.

The wind doesn't blow in Wyoming. It sucks.
