I hear Pine Bluff got hit hard with hail about 2 weeks ago.

Hey has anyone hear from Slideman?
He is in the bitterroot area, don't they have a fire going on there?

For some reason, that southeast corner gets hammered regularly, far as I can tell. Need to get a new Wyoming Atlas... the center map got loose and is now missing.

No, have not heard from him in a while. Hope he's ok. If you are lurking, Slide... please check in so we know you are OK!

Last triple digits was about 8 days ago - time to start looking for cold weather gear stowed away.  Possible last use of A/C until April/May.  Probably used heater about 20 days last winter - previous year was only once.  Just like leaves turning in other places, the number of MN, IA, IL license plates etc. increasing signal a season change - leaves don't do 30 in a 45 in the left lane during rush hour, though. :

Definite weather change here in NE Wyoming. Light rain most of yesterday. We usually have most of our rain in the spring and early summer, but had little then this year, and more than usual since mid August. Temperatures very cool the last week or so, only 43 right now and going for a high of 59. Never got to that yesterday. I have very low heat on in the orchid bathroom now, first heat this year. I'll watch the forecast carefully and hope to guess right when it will be necessary to pick the rest of the green tomatoes before it freezes. Definitely "almost winter" in Wyoming.

Yeah... that's the way it rolls here some years. We say we have four seasons anyway: Winter, still winter, sort of summer and almost winter.

The short "summer" is wonderful after nearly 60 years of desert dry and terrible heat in so. Cal. The spring is invigorating, but much like the desert winter. The fall is the best, with cool temps, colorful plants, and the indescribably wonderful "fall" smell in the wind outdoors.  And I've been amazed at how well I've adapted to the actual winter with snow and cold. :)

well, this is new, at least for me it is,
Casper had rain and snow at the same time.

did not stick or last long, maybe two hours, because the temps are still above freezing.

The temp has come up to 30 from a low of 27. We had thick fog in the lower places earlier. Looked awesome, but it has cleared out enough for me to drive to the range for our usual Thursday clinic.

Amazing!! No one would believe me if I told them that on Nov 15th, I was tooling around Cheyenne in Shorts and flip flops, walking the dog. 75* today, what a difference that 12 hours can make. Not looking good for WY tomorrow, sn&* for the whole state predicted.

Forecast calls for snow today, 100%. No time frame given. Not snowing now, temp dropped from 39 at 3:30AM to 38 now at 6:20. Supposed to go down to 28 later today.

I think it's almost winter. :)
