10F here in Southern Vermont this morning. High of 17F expected. Low tonight: -1F. Maybe some snow flurries this afternoon. Pretty normal for New England in January.

Thaw coming mid-week. Highs in the forties, with rain.
Almost the exact same forecast here.

Hey there! Good to see you.

It is 53 degrees outside now, and the snow is MELTING! :) I can see patches of brown dirt and dried grass here and there. YIPPEE
Won't last long, of course. Supposed to snow again tonight.

Mid-30s and light rain.  Which means very slick roads.  Gravel roads were fine but once I reached blacktop...  So I'm working from home today.  As long as I have an internet connection I'm golden.  Plink away on my laptop, sip coffee and stare out the window at the forest.  Ahhh...

Temp is a little weird... it was 24 at 3 AM, now down to 18 at 6:30. Been doing that a lot lately. No idea what's up with that. Was supposed to snow last night, but the sky is clear.... at least to the east. Should be able to see west pretty soon. :)

Rained all night and this morning. Now it is snowing. We accept the possibility of snow until the end of May. No real surprise. The trees are all in bloom, so I just hope we don't have any significant hail. Let it snow... :)

Oh well, I'm not quite ready to put plants in the ground yet.  Still working on the fence.

Supposed to be 23 degrees here for a low tonight. I start my seeds in waves, so when I plant the first ones early it won't matter if they freeze. If they survive, I'm a little ahead of the game.

Looking at maybe getting some Guinea hens. The store where I work the greenhouse is offering them as a special order for almost $7.00 each. Pretty pricey, but would be worth it if I had a place to keep them while they grew up. Once mature, they seem to be able to take care of themselves nicely. A neighbor has a flock of 7 or 8 (hard to count because they are never still) and they roam the whole neighborhood. They love to tease my dog. LOL

Guinea hens are tick-vacuums.  They will keep grasses clean of the blood-sucking vermin.  However, they are NOISY!

I love the sound they make. The flock that comes by here is quiet unless they see me or the dog. They run up to the fence and have quite a conversation with Laddie, then wander away. Fun to watch.

Got down to 19 degrees by dawn today, snow all over and in all of the garden tubs. Hope at least the spinach and the chamomile survive. The rest is probably toast. sigh  Back up to 37 degrees by 7AM... but the high is only expected to reach 49... we shall see.

No new snow here since Tuesday, and not much then. But several nice rains. Cold, however. 27 degrees this morning, just like yesterday. I just hope my apple blossoms won't be destroyed. :( Everything else I put out, except the turnips and snow peas - maybe the spinach, is toast.

I don't know where everyone is, but here(Cheyenne, WY) it has been snowing for 2 days. Our last mesurement 9am local was 10+ inches and snowing to beat the band. Accumulation expected 16+. Snow is supposed to stop around 3pm. With the travel advisories I guess my trip to Casper is off.
