A white gunman burst into a historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina, during prayer services and opened fire, killing nine people in what authorities are calling a hate crime.

Police are still hunting for the gunman, described as a clean-shaven white male about 21 years old who was wearing a gray sweatshirt or hoodie, blue jeans and Timberland boots.

Eight people died on the scene at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church and one person was pronounced dead at a hospital, Police Chief Gregory Mullen said in a press conference in the early morning hours of Thursday.

Hate Crime is still CRIME... hatred doesn't change the results.  Judging motivations rather than results is stupid and leads to feel good legislation.  If he killed people without provocation of past transgression justifying death, then the man is a MURDERER not a "HATE CRIMER."  Get me?

MY TAKE: This guy should have died before he got to turn around and leave.  In fact, he shouldn't have finished a mag, or had a chance to open fire.  Five bucks says these "church goers" were cowering and waiting to die and praying rather than taking cover and preparing to exeunt this worthless murderous sack of crap off the face of the earth.  COWARDS!  This guy should have died before he left their church.

Interesting how all these "magical" shooting sprees "magically" arrive on demand when the Gun Grabber Nanny Staters just lost so many anti gun battles to the "right to carry crowd" they hate so much...  That one in Texas recently at the cop shop seemed MADE TO ORDER for sure... and now this?  (For those not in the know, open carry has finally been signed into law in Texas.  Yes folks, the land everyone assumes to be "gun Mecca" is actually FINALLY getting its "right to carry" house in order.

I was reading that some churches have a policy of no guns on their premises, even if you have a concealed carry permit.  Don't know how they could successfully stop someone carrying in something that was already hidden though.  Already a lot of places (schools, government buildings, day care centres etc.) are "gun free", maybe churches are too in some places, SC might be one of those places.  Someone else would know for sure.

This seems perfectly credible, but I did wonder how they were able to identify the "lone wolf's" clothing so exactly, even down to what type of boots he was wearing.  That does seem odd, I mean you don't normally look at someone's footwear with such an eye for detail.  And these shooting scenarios do seem to be happening with convenient regularity now when the only benefactor of the shooting spree would be the PTB.

Well I just heard that "they have someone in handcuffs", but there is nothing specific on the news sites and as it is coming up to midnight, it is not a good time to be reading news.  By the time I log on again there will be, hopefully, more answers.

Not to sound racist, but if they reported all of the black-on-black crime on TV, they would need a specially devoted channel just for that purpose. 24 hours/day, 365/year. AND they would have to hire auctioneers as anchormen as they would be the only people capable to speak quickly enough to fit it all in.
