Illinois, consider this...
« on: June 22, 2015, 11:34:33 am »

Moonbeam started something that I like, so here goes.

Illinois does have a lot to offer, if you can put up with the Statists.
If you are a Professional, Doctor, lawyer, that type, then there is work here.
If your a computer geek, then there is a lot of work here.

CCW, we were the last to get it, but we do have it.
You do need a FOID card, Firearms Identification Card -FOID, to buy anything related to guns, firearms, ammo, powder, primers.
Not much in the way of not what you can have in guns, outside of the city of Chicago.
all gun ranges are outside of the city of Chicago and some in southern Wisconsin.
Gas is high, housing is up there too, food is not to bad.
Taxes, all depends on what you make a year and how your deduction go.

So for those that like being near a big city, but not living in one, then there is a lot to do and see here.

During my Chicago trip Julio showed me a couple gun shops in the local area.  About 1 to 1.5 hours from Chicago perhaps?  Very, very nice.  There was enough gun related stuff to rival most decent-sized gun shows.  One place in particular had enough AR stuff to keep any lover satisfied.  If they didn't have what you wanted then it doesn't exist.

Plus I got to heft a 50cal sniper rifle.  My gosh that was awesome.  Wouldn't want to have to hump that into a field for too many miles.

Having spent my first winter in Wyoming, I can say that the winters are worst in Chicago.

Were Wyoming may have gotten about a foot or two of snow, Chicago had over 5 or more this year.
So the winters near Chicago is worst as for snow and cold there.

Prices are also higher than hell in ILL. Taxes are Higher.

Chicago maybe a nice place to visit, but for Gods sake, do not get stuck there.
