Costilla County Colorado PTB dont like freedom
« on: November 29, 2015, 02:15:26 pm »

Just discovered a series of youtube videos by Alex Ansary that are documenting the problems in Costilla County Colorado.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ce9cxb2KY_0&index=20&list=PLQOvCM6Cs1K7rBvGYT1V2IQ3bcecxeI36

Hopefully the folks who have moved there can overcome this harassment.

Wondering if there are any Oathkeepers in that County?

Basically, the county govt is trying to "settle" the area and have permanent structures erected...to ensure consistent and increased taxation.  It's all about the local govt wanting more tax revenues and more that are stable.  They just want the area to become more like the coastal areas of this country.

It's very difficult to find and keep property in an area that allows for total freedom.  The local govts here, in this country, all want to develop their property whenever they can.

Perhaps federal court action is in order because the individuals causing trouble are from another state (Texas)?

I am a mother of four. We came out here with the same hopes and dreams. We have been harassed by the code enforcement officers. my beautify dream has become a nightmare. I am racked with fear of these officers showing up and forcing me off of my land.

yes, you would want to buy your own land, and then use the things on it to build your own home, and then when that was being done, rouse the local community to eliminate property tax forever

the only thing that makes someone change their action is if they become passionate about something.   and if only a few people are targeted, it will do nothing to rouse the passion in other people to care to change their own behaviour to stand up for them.

Apparently an effort by county gov to outlaw trailer/rv/off grid residents by heavy handed means.

I have been trying to watch some of the videos.
Seems that there is a large area in that county where folks can buy land fairly cheap. 5 acres for 3-5 thousand bucks. Wide open , sagebrush desert.
Colorado has passed the pot laws so folks are moving here to enjoy that new" freedom". Many of them are struggling , poor, or "hippies".
Other folks have "invested" in the property and have money to build "nice" homes.
The county folks want the tax money, as always. They see Nice homes built by investers VS campers, off gridders, cob or tiny home, folks.
Who wins? I think you can guess.
How does the county get rid of the vermin? By passing new laws and sicking the dogs on them.
These poor folks need to get organized, find a lawyer who might actually be on their side, and run some folks for county offices.

you are right about getting organized, but they need to follow the 3 "S"'s if they want it to stop.
