One of the last SSN loopholes closed.
« on: December 08, 2015, 11:44:15 am »

Loophole allowing passport without an SSN is closed.  Most health insurance companies also have closed the loophole of minors without SSNs.  Obviously the financial accounts without SSNs is also closed.

Some can still sub ITIN instead, but what's the point of that?  It's still a FedGov number.

I don't anticipate doing those things myself, but don't see the problem either. The SSN is their number... they already know who we are, who has one. I don't see that it makes any difference at all to give it to them when required... they have it if they have your name, especially if they know your birthdate.

As for children now being required to have a number, that can be a problem of course. Just be comforted to know that there won't BE any kind of health "insurance" for much longer. The SSN will be irrelevant then. sigh

Friends,

I'm getting that:

"O Shit! I coulda had a V-8" feeling.

How in the seven burning Hells does the State come to the delirious, psychedelic and grandiose conclusion that it has the Right to Forbid Free Men to Travel Abroad?

Well yeah, I suppose that if we can imagine engaging The State in Socratic Style Dialog that the State might throw one of those curve spitter-slider knuckleballs that Socrates, Plato and O'Bammy O'Bongo like to use:

"Indeed, I would never infringe upon the Rights and Prerogatives of a Free Man—But those dudes that I deny Travel Papers to are—By Definition—No Longer FREE MEN! Now excuse me. I'm going to Castle Queen Side and Settle in for a Grinding and Prolonged End Game."

You know, its funny, but for a long time, I had expected this mess to be solved by darknet free markets emerging to allow people to trade without intervention, and with full deniability.  Upon moving to Wyoming I learned what I had suspected.  The FSW'ers are neo luddites of the worst kind, hoping for an apocalypse to strike and cave dwelling, stick churning butter making to be the pinnacle of technology.  Their enemies, out here, are even worse.  They are those who make money living off the county and state taxes.  And their numbers are LEGION.  They cover for each other and are dirty in their dealings in ways which would make Al Capone blush.  They make racketeering in Chicago look saintly.

Oh, and the third oval in this Venn Diagram of hell, is the elderly and budgetaries.  Don't fret though, even the multi millionaires here are CHEAPSKATES!

So between those two groups, tell me,  Whom exactly are you going to put online with a dark net, underground, world spanning free market?  The neo luddies, the psycho governmentalists or the chronic cheapskates?

Frankly I no longer see a way out.  The last of my hopes and dreams were crushed by the soul sucking abyss that is "conservative" America.  My hopes are for somewhere else, since in other countries, people are putting darknets and free markets online.  I put my eggs into the wrong basket, and now I hope I survive long enough to get some of them out before someone else scrambles them, eh?

To each there own.

I have not seen all this doom and gloom you keep talking about.
Is Wyoming perfect? no, not by a long shot, but it is better than Chicago, and northern ILL.

Maybe you have a higher vision of what you want, then is possible at this time.

I do not know, but I am now enjoying my life here in Wyoming.

~All citizens are required to have health insurance.
~Health insurance supplies are required to report all SSNs to Medicare.
~All major health insurers are discouraged from providing coverage to anyone without an SSN.
~Travel to Mexico or Canada requires the use of a passport.
~Passport issuance or renewal requires an SSN.

Ergo the goal must be that all citizens will have an SSN that is reported to Medicare and leaving the country to avoid it is no longer an option.

leaving the country is always an option. It may not be a good option but it is an option.

There are options to Obummercare.

Self care. Do you really need to see a doctor so often? Learn about your health and take care of it. Use a doctor for life threatening things, of course. Do a search on health insurance alternatives. The list is long. Here are just two.

Direct Primary Care: An Innovative Alternative to Conventional Health Insurance
http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2014/08/direct-primary-care-an-innovative-alternative-to-conventional-health-insurance
By Daniel McCorry

Insurance-based primary care has grown increasingly complex, inefficient, and restrictive, driving frustrated physicians and patients to seek alternatives. Direct primary care is a rapidly growing form of health care that not only alleviates such frustrations, but also goes above and beyond to offer increased access and improved care at an affordable cost. State and federal policymakers can improve access to direct primary care by removing prohibitive laws and enacting laws that encourage this innovative model to flourish. As restrictions are lifted and awareness expands, direct primary care will likely continue to proliferate as a valuable and viable component of the health care system.

Sorry, I need to be more clear.  Leaving the country *to avoid putting an SSN on your children* is no longer an option, as you will not be able to get them out of the country without an SSN.
