Granted, I have not been here for very long, but I am finding it so much better than the cesspool that ILL is.
One thing, there is fewer police here than in the town that I left.
and one of the reasons I did pick Wyoming over other places that I could have gone is that there is no state income tax here.
That right there is like a $200.00 a paycheck pay raise.
My rent is less that what was going on in my old place.
I am also not having to put up with all the racial bullshit I used to have to deal with too.

I understand that Wyoming is not for everyone. what place is?
But for me, it is looking to be a good fit.

I have not ran into any of the Gov worship that others have talked about yet.
maybe it has to do with the fact I do not run in those circles.

I am a big fan of OPSEC. so maybe that has something to do with it also.

one of the things I have noticed around here is all the manufactured homes here.
most, not all, but most of the small towns seam to be glorified trailer parks.

but this is also just my first impression, after having been here for some time.

  You've got a job , hang onto it , 'cause Casper is an oil town primarily and it's already taking the hit economically , you didn't get to see the hundreds of Haliburton , Schlumberger , Baker Hughes etc. trucks and equipment parked out off CY.

What are your experiences with racism in IL and WY?
I've been trying to talk my wife out of cali for years, but she isn't white,

I have found no racism in Wyoming.
most here are white, but of the non whites I have meet, they were nice and friendly.
They did not act like they had a chip on their shoulder towards you because you are white.
Now IL, WOW, almost every non white there thinks you, as a white person owes then something.
every problem they have is because of you, as a white person.
if there is a job, the non white will get it before you as a white person.
It is like night and day, the different between Wy, and ILL.
depending on your job, if you are white, then you will be the minority in it, but they, the non whites, will treat you as if you are the majority, and want you to give in on what ever they are wanting from you.
the cost of living in Wy is lower than ILL.
the weather, so far is about the same, but like I have said before, I have only been here a little while.
There is work, but not the high paying kind, mostly fast food and stuff like that.
depending on what you want to do, you can do it here in Wy.

I for one like it here. but it may not be for everyone.
Try taking a trip out here first, for a week or two.
see how people react to you, that is a pretty good way to see how an area is like.

The wind doesn't blow in Wyoming. It sucks.

Low humidity is the rule in most of the state. So even though it gets hot and cold, they're not as noticeable as in other places. 95F with 95% humidity in Boston is oppresive. 95F with 10% humidity in Wyoming is just a hot day.

    Oh bullshit , and if four out of five folks have him on " ignore" because he speaks the truth about what a corrupt cesspool Wyoming is both politically and socioeconomically then that says a great deal more about them and their herd mentality that requires saying " Oh My Wyoming is just the bestest , coolest place and everything is rosy for everyone in Wyoming".

I didn't say that 80% of members had him on "Ignore". I know for a fact that some do. This reduces the percentage of folks taking issue with the Wyoming bashing. Other folks who have become weary of the bashing have given up commenting. The net result is you don't see as many spirited rebuttals as you once did.

Or maybe far more people have come to agree with him.

  It's all just geography anyway , every place has it's advantages and it's drawbacks , the rub comes when folks attempt to cover for the latter.

Well, I made it through my first winter here.

Can not say that it was bad here, been through more snow in Chicago than here,
Wind was not as bad as I heard, it was windy, but not to bad.
Because of work, I do not carry here, but I have seen a lot of people doing so.
been getting more snow this spring than we had in the winter, they say that Casper is up 4 inches in water now than last year.
Yes Casper is trying to be "big City", but it has a long, long way to go before that happens.

So I am happy that I am here.

Now I have some land to work on.
