Wyomin doesn't really have cities, per se. It's more of a town with really long streets.
It offers all the freedom you can buy.
Cash on the barrel head son.
The political climate can be best understood by perusing the Johnson County War. There's an interesting perspective of it in Charles Askin's Gunfighters.
Casper started out as a place where pilgrims could stop by the river, that Indians avoided because of bad spirits. My theory is that it stunk where the Texaco refinery would be erected (now a golf course). There's an interesting history of early white folks Casper depicted in Charlotte Babcock's Shot Down!.

YEA!!!!
now I can start.
I had to wait for a year before I could start.
but I do not have a loan from a bank on it.

sure feels good out there, closest neighbor is about a mile away.

now I just have to wait for the ground to thaw.

Awesome news!  What's first on the list?  Other than running around wildly laughing like a crazed person?

Had a nice talk with the county weed and pest dept.

they ask that I not pull the sage bush up just yet.

only pull what I need to build on. that the sage there helps with keeping the water in the soil.
due in part to the high winds we have here.

sounds right to me.
they actually were helpful with me, and were offering to help me with planting the Osage Orange trees.
showing me on a map where would be the best place to drill for water and why.
friendly people, surprising

I've talked with local DNR folks here in Iowa in the past.  If you are a hunter and/or land owner who really loves your piece of dirt they are very helpful and friendly.  They want as many allies as possible to keep things clean and beautiful.

Status update?  House done?  Currently lounging in your hammock you weaved yourself on your porch you just built sipping tea made by leaves you grew yourself and flavored with honey you harvested from your bees???

I am not that fast Bro.

Have been marking out the boundaries, and where I want the driveway, the barn, the house and all.
Still to wet here to do much right now, other than plan, and dream.

  I know, I know, you haven't had the land that long, just wondering what you've been doing with it so far.

I hear ya loud and clear on the planning and dreaming part.

You should GPS all of them. Easy to find even under the snow. Hehehehe

Yes it is.  That's the size of the area my buddy and I hunt in.  We walked it quite a bit last fall looking for a buck he shot.  One could almost get lost in that much land...

40 acres is a little smaller than two standard mining claims.
