No mention that the robber was armed... but still. Way to go!

Ha!  That took guts.  Good for the teller!

I've always wondered what might happen if some idiot decided to attempt bank robbery here in my town. Only two banks, and I've been to both of them. I wonder how many guns would be pointed at the robber immediately... and how many of them would be in the hands of the tellers! I've gone into both banks fully and openly armed, and nobody even seemed to notice. Folks here know the difference. :)

There is a much older story, similar, but with a funny twist. This allegedly happened in Chicago some years ago, and I can't recall which newspaper carried the story.

Dude walks into bank, gives teller his note demanding money. Teller turns over the paper and writes on back -- (Not exact quote here) -- We do not allow robberies at this bank. Please go to the bank across the street where they do allow robberies.

Dude reads that, walks out, crosses street, goes into that bank, and is arrested while waiting in line to get to a teller. ;)

And yes, I'm saying that actually happened.

Salute!

I like the story where the robber uses his own deposit slip to write the note on...  :)
