Firearms review
« on: October 26, 2017, 06:41:36 am »

OK people, lets hear what your impressions are on the weapons you have.
both good and bad.

I just picked up a Kel Tek PMS-30.
light weight pistol in 22mag.
30 round magazine.

no problems so far, very light weight compared to the Ruger Mark III
might end up being the pistol I keep in the truck.

Here is a review of some of my guns... :)

https://thepriceofliberty.org/i-love-my-guns/

Oh, and here is my everyday carry:

I have others, but most are poor relations and not worth bragging about.

I would love to give ya'll a thorough review of my boomsticks but I lost them in that horrible fishing accident.  Just terrible...

My main carry weapon (when I'm not at work; rules 'n all...) is the Glock 17.  Chambered in 9mm.  Ugly, rugged, reliable.

My pocket pistol (when I really need to be discreet) is the Glock 42.  Chambered in 380acp.  Ugly, rugged, reliable.

My under-the-pillow pistol is the Glock 22.  Chambered in 40S&W.  Ugly, rugged, reliable.

My oh-crap-there's-a-bear pistol is the Glock 21.  Chambered in 45acp.  Ugly, rugged, reliable.

Hmm... seems to be a theme here.

Under the pillow? That's a terrible place for a gun. You could put your eye out! :)  I have a holster that attaches to the bed frame. It is the only kydex holster I care for, and it does a great job. I practice drawing the gun from as many different positions as I can think of.

The only issue I see with that firearm is the availability of ammo

What is the issue with availability? Three stores in town here sell both .22lr and mag. in several varieties. Not as cheap as it used to was... but still available. I have "several" boxes of each. :)

I've never seen a bedside holster!  Those look quite neat.

It is neat! Holds the gun firmly and safely. Covers the trigger. Easy to draw and reholster. I looked at the website where I got it, and was not able to find it there! I wrote to the owner to ask about it and will post here when I hear from him.

Mosin-Nagant?  I have one of those bad boys.  Biiiiig rifle.  With a very big recoil...  Bought it years and years ago for $90.

Also, added another toy to my arsenal this past month.  A new carry pistol, G19, Glock 9mm a little bit smaller than the G17.  Ugly, rugged, reliable.

A semi-auto firing that monstrous round?  Ouch...

Mil-surp 54R ammo is very tough to find and the moment.  American made is out there but at $1 a round!
