Now when are they going to do the job properly and totally drop  out of the UN, thereby letting it fall to the  ground in a heap of excrement?

Then UN headquarters could be converted into a barbeque park for the homeless - on the first floor, and a church on the 2nd floor, and then the rest of the place rented out to enterprising retailers.

Do you think that'll ever happen?  If so, any good ideas for the building?

Calling it “a big step in the right direction,” U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Sunday night announced a historic reduction in the U.N. biennial operating budget.
Haley said the plan calls for a $285 million cut for the 2018-19 fiscal year.
“The inefficiency and overspending of the United Nations are well known,” Haley said. “We will no longer let the generosity of the American people be taken advantage of or remain unchecked."

Probably not happening, at least not anytime soon. Far too much money involved, and of course their drug of choice: power. As long as the control of other people is involved in the UN thing, it will continue.  The UN is already bankrupt, and if Trump shuts off even some of the loot transferred to them, it will be a good thing. But don't hold your breath waiting for him to totally repudiate the UN or the power it gives him.

$285 million could feed a heck of a lot of homeless people.
I long for the day when the USA pulls out of the UN and kicks them out of our country. One centralized government in WDC is more than we need or want, so we certainly do not need a yet bigger government with plans to dominate all nations on earth. Sheesh!

Yeah, could do that. I'd rather pour the dust out to sea and then salt the ground it stood on. With suitable warnings around the area to remind people of the danger.
