Can the parents seriously think this is ok?

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/12/26/china-schools-make-pupils-wear-micro-chipped-uniforms-thwart/

Schools in southern China are forcing children to wear uniforms embedded with computer chips that track their movement and trigger an alarm if they skip class.
More that more than 10 schools in Guizhou province and the neighboring autonomous region of Guangxi are now requiring students to wear “intelligent uniforms”, according to the state-run newspaper The Global Times.

I  suspect   that   the   parents   do   not   dare   to   openly   disagree   with   much   that   their   gov't   mandates.  /    " it's   for  the   children "....

It's amazing how these things are disguised as "for the public good".  With the right glossy advertising and enough poignant terms almost anything could be accepted and theoretically people will clamour to be tracked, numbered and tagged.  Even now I am hearing people saying "if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear", and they say it with a straight face.  Never was ".... your children now stand in my camp …." more relevant and appropriate.

Read this and despair, or fight harder for freedom realising how precious it is.  Sometimes I think I am in the last generation to appreciate it, but then I am heartened to realise that most of you here are probably in my childrens' generation and know what freedom means, so there is hope.

The idea is that if citizens behave unethically or dishonestly in their day-to-day lives, they will lose access to everything from government benefits to public transportation. In the Party’s eyes, direct consequences will help create a more transparent society -- or at least one more easily controlled.
It’s a new experiment in human society, so we can’t predict the results. But while you may see this as a crazy idea happening in a far-away place with no connection to our own lives, think again.

When people say "If you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to fear" tell them and it is still none of their, or the governments business.

and the more they try and control us, the more of us go under ground and off the grid.

the black market is alive and well.
