Going in and out of various hospitals transporting patients it's interesting how my temperature has varied from 89
oF to about 98
o F at their checkpoints. These are IR (I assume) thermometers mostly where they aim it at your forehead but the most recent one was under the tongue of the person in front of you ... then they stick it back into this slot which apparently sterilizes it, pull it out, and stick it under
your tongue. Next time I'm there I'm going to ask for a rectal reading with their reusable thermometer, THEN we'll check their temperature orally with it after the quick in-and-out from the the sterilizer slot in the machine.

My temp after taking one one sip of cold drink and waiting 'til thermometer 'beeped' it was done. Same thermometer minutes later 97.2
o F.
Edit: Apparently, the device they stick it in puts a new plastic sheath around the part that goes in your mouth.
