Real id: Demanded by airports from October
« on: February 24, 2020, 10:13:07 pm »

Well here we go:

https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/real-id-us-travel-requirements-electronic-filing/index.html

(CNN) — Think your driver's license is enough to get you through airport security in the United States and onto your domestic flight?
Maybe not.
Some two-thirds of US state driver's licenses are not compliant with a post-9/11 security law set to go into effect on October 1. Those who are not compliant will not be able to fly if they don't have other forms of "REAL ID-compliant" identification.
Concerned about the impact on travel, the head of the US Department of Homeland Security loosened the restrictions this week, allowing the various state agencies to accept identity documents electronically.

I first thought that maybe that is a sign that there is not much happening in the world.  However, (cynically) NO CHANCE OF THAT.

I would have thought that someone would post about the coronavirus (everyone I know has switched to Lion Red or Budweiser) being a biological weapon that "got out of hand" (or did it?)  The theory is that it was launched on the Chinese population to stop the protests against communism in China - starting in Hong Kong and spreading.  I guess the ptb thought it was worth killing "40 - 70%" of the world population to preserve communism in China and prevent what happened in Europe in the late 1980s from happening.

I would have thought that people would be "itching" to talk about Michael Bloomberg and the disaster that is the democrat candidacy -there's hours of conversation there.

There's Trump and the democrat-made disaster that was "impeachment".

And it goes on ……

But …….

TMM really misses MamaLiberty and Gooch who were strong contributors, along with others who have wandered off.

The reaction to Faceplant, Googoo, Twittle-dee and a few others herding the sheep into meaningless meanderings created alternatives which are competitors to TMM.
Gab, Voat, Minds offer similar sympatico cultures.

Nothing like intelligent interaction to inspire more intelligent interaction.

Synergy happens. It is not created.

Sparkplugs and cheerleaders are important ingredients.
Thank you Mouse for keeping at it.

I miss them also. I don't miss the vulgarians at all but MamaLiberty and Gooch, I miss a lot.

I still "Check in" , when I am online, which is not so much lately. I prefer sunshine and outside. Still, this is where I became "woke" in a libertarian manner. My family home.

Perhaps our checking in is not quite enough.

Those who kept this place vital moved on.

Maybe it is our turn. Can we rise to the occasion or not?

Put some thought into The Mental Militia ... on a regular basis.

Not asking for a lot. What you can contribute will suffice.

I will certainly try. Just not much on "chit-chat", especially concerning the current statist outrage. More into the philosophy of freedom and living simply, although if I can help anyone in their endeavors I will certainly try. I owe it to MamaLiberty.

The way I see it, we can "move on" sure, I've got really into "GAB" and "comments" but this is still the best site.  There is one major advantage here; no obscenities every second word as in most other sites (sites about anything for that matter).  Has anyone else noticed that over the last two years or so, the language ordinary people use has changed to be really weird?

This is not only for the web, a discussion site or a "comments" section but news articles (and I am really expecting that childrens' programmes will soon come out with characters shouting obscenities at the children and Barney the dinosaur saying ""how are you children this morning?  I am F***ing F***ed off at the political situation here and the lack of progress to fight global warming" or photographs of billboards to be on all the newssites displaying words like "buy our products you f***ing stupid people" and "F*** the republican party, vote socialist democrat".

This is a swear free zone, there aren't many of them left.

Just my opportunity to have a rant.

Rants are good!!

I didn't know this was a swear free zone and I don't really mind the occasional need to emphasize. Its when it is directed at someone in particular or denigrates others or their religion, that I feel disrupts communication and polarizes people without any benefits. Some people make a habit of it. Thankfully, those here now are not like that. We just need more of us.

That's not to say that calling a socialist totalitarian a "commie tyrant" is a bad thing.

My power requirements limit my time on line.

Well this is not officially a "swear free zone" but it is by virtue of the fact that it …. just is.

Unless Rosie O'Donnell posts here of course.

To say "commie tyrant" or "liberal lunatic" or "crazy control freakazoid" is not swearing.  It is just calling a "spade a spade".

I mean the MS media and liberal or leftist "protestors" seem to obsessed with the "f work", TV shows and movies are suddenly flooded with characters screeching out the "f word" in every second sentence and even school kids are "protesting" by carrying placards emblazoned with "f 'this, that and the other').  "Comedians" on stage seem to think it is compulsory to shout out obscenities all the time and have the cheek to call it "adult talk".

It's just nice to get away from all that without hiding in a cave and entertaining yourself by reading Donald Duck comics all the time.

I declared a personal vacation from my regular news sources almost a month ago. https://www.bitterrootbugle.com/2020/02/05/dont-bring-me-no-bad-news/

It was a bit hard to maintain at first, but in checking back every once in a while I found that precious little changed week to week... other than some of the names and some of the locations. It is becoming easier the more I do it. Plus I am finding more time for activities that have been short-sheeted by my news-hound habit.

Please wake me from my nap when the perp walks start.

As for adding emphasis to statements, I was tasked by the warden (well, all of us were) to eliminate profanity in our assigned units.  It took me two days.  https://www.bitterrootbugle.com/2014/12/13/adjectives-adverbs-and-other-parts/
The other COs were not so successful (or creative). Suffice it to say, the English language is rich with adjectives and adverbs that do wonderful work in adding genuinely descriptive emphasis.
