Of course they despise Washington. Notice the graffiti “1619” on the toppled statue. And the burnt flags. The NYT must be proud. They taught these people well.

Good news / Bad news:

Trump signed an executive order creating 10-year felony for toppling federal statues... applies RETROACTIVELY.

That is not how a Constitutional Republic operates. Legislatures make laws. Executives agree to them, and carry them out.

Retroactive is widely acknowledged to be antithetical to countries with any semblance of liberty.
