Her fifteen minutes of fame
« on: July 07, 2005, 08:26:29 pm »

About a month ago, Tessitore started drawing and then painting these amazing pictures with acrylics.  If you are familiar with the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman you will recognize some of the characters.  In any case, my dad saw the pictures she had finished and advised her to find a studio to advertise her work.

My child is much more gutsy than I am, because she darn well did it the very next day.  On Main Street in our little hamlet, there is the old Opera House which houses antiques and a 'teen hangout' upstairs.  They put her paintings up on the wall and the rest is history.  Here is a photo of the paper that covered her artist reception...

And a couple of color pictures of her work (my favorites of the bunch)...

and...

The article was a little inaccurate (the reporter seemed to think she hadn't lived with me the whole time), and has one misspelling, but all in all it turned out fine.  I'm so damn proud!

That's some damn fine artwork.  And not just communit hobnobbing there.  Damn fine, and damn appropriate for what I suspect the venue is.

Build that momentum!

Wow, those are GREAT!  What talent and creativity!  They'd make good avatars - with the celebrated artist's permission, of course!  ;)

WooHoo!!!  B)

Congrats to Tessitore for the accomplishment.  And congrats to debeez for raising a kid that can accomplish something.
