Brand new (1 week) Survival Blog reader from Atlanta. Single, kidless, 40-something female living very close to the city with a small support system. Basically, if TSHTF hard enough tonight, I'd probably be toast.
But I've jumped in with two feet. I'm reading voraciously (Rawles has been the best so far). Looking forward to learning a lot as I build up my stockpile. Planning to take an introductory course in firearms this month or next and then purchase a rifle. Don't have funds to do the whole retreat thing at this point, but I'm doing what's within my means now.
Dragonfly09,
Good for you! I think the most important thing is to get started NOW so as to not waste what time remains
before TSHTF. I realize it's not as if you don't have enough to read already,

but when you can,
look for books authored by Claire Wolfe or by Boston T. Party. Claire has written a lot on freedom issues,
and Boston is well known for Boston's Gun Bible. I don't think you can go wrong getting any book written
by either of them.
