Has anyone looked at the Continental Giant rabbit as a good meat rabbit?

I hear they get upwards to 25 to 30 lbs.

The giant breeds of rabbits normally have poor feed conversion ratios. Most also have a larger proportion of bone compared to the meat. For meat the best ones available seem to be the New Zealand or California breeds. Other factors, such as the pelts, can also make a difference in a persons' choice. All rabbits are edible.

Sorry guys. I know that this is a serious conversation and I am learning from it. Sometimes I just can't help myself. I have a very weird sense of humor. :threvil:

I briefly discussed raising rabbits for meat with the family the other night.  With two daughters I was met with shock and horror about killing and eating something as cute and fuzzy as widdle wabbits.

Thankfully chickens are ugly so they have no problem with that!

let them handle some rabbits, and ask them if they are still cute and fuzzy when they get scratch real bad by a nice cute fuzzy bunny.
then they might like to eat them.
